User manuals and assembly instructions for product manufacturers
We design product documentation — user manuals, assembly instructions, and technical illustrations — for companies bringing physical products to market. Content structure, technical illustrations, and graphic design delivered as one complete document.
Our documentation is developed in line with EU regulatory requirements and industry standards — including GPSR, IEC/IEEE 82079-1 and the Machinery Regulation 2023/1230.

Process
We discuss the project, documentation type, and scope of work. We can meet online or communicate by email. At this stage we establish whether you need new documentation or an update of existing materials.
Before exchanging any project materials, we sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). We then prepare a quote with a defined scope and timeline. Standard delivery is 20 business days for user manuals and 7 days for assembly instructions
We develop the content, technical illustrations, 3D models, and document layout. The finished project is delivered to you on schedule. Feedback rounds are completed within 2–6 business days.
We hand over files in agreed formats: print-ready and digital PDF, editable source files (Illustrator, InDesign), 3D models. If your product changes, we’re available for documentation updates.
Your project is secure
We provide a Non-Disclosure Agreement to ensure the safety of your data.
Frequently asked questions
The price is influenced by several factors, such as: the complexity of the product, the amount of content to be created, the amount of technical documentation provided, and the cost of translations. We price each project individually. Assembly instructions for furniture typically range from €500–€1,500, and a complex user manual for an electronic device can start from €2,500 upwards.
Standard delivery for a user manual is 15–20 business days. For assembly instructions, turnaround is typically 7 business days. An exact timeline is agreed at the quoting stage.
Yes. We translate product documentation into European and international languages, working with verified industry translators who understand the technical context and product-specific terminology. This is a useful addition to our service for companies exporting to multiple markets at once.
Before exchanging any materials — technical drawings, CAD models, product descriptions — we sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Only the team members directly involved in the project have access to client data.
It depends on the product type and applicable regulations. The GPSR allows digital instructions for a wide range of consumer products, provided the user has easy access to them. The Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 (applicable from 20 January 2027) also permits digital format, but sets specific conditions regarding accessibility and the retention period for online documentation. More on this topic is covered in our article on legal requirements for user documentation.
Yes. If you have a manual that is outdated, incomplete, or in need of improvement, we can take it over, review it, and update it. Send your materials to office@instrioo.com and we’ll respond with questions about the scope of work.
